Kindergarten is a time of great transition. Children and families may be both excited and apprehensive as students make the transition to a full day of learning. Students look forward to riding the big yellow bus for the first time while parents can't help worry as they become more independent.
Our educators are well trained in supporting both students and families as they make this transition. They will encourage you to be an active participant in your child's daily experiences and still allow them to flourish. Should you have any worries or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher and remember they have been working with this age group for quite some time. They will be able to make suggestions for dealing with separation anxiety, stamina, communication, social interactions etc. But rest assured, most students transition very well and just need a bit of time to build new routines and habits.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year is now open. Student names for those on our incoming kindergarten list were gathered from our preschool records and from the five district towns local census information. All families on our list will receive information in the mail the week of March 4th. If your child does not attend preschool within the QRSD or you have not answered the town census, please contact Jessica Bennett at [email protected] with your child's name, date of birth, address, and parent contact information. As a reminder, students must turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2024 in order to be eligible for kindergarten.
